- Why digital encoding?
cablecom uses encryption to prevent the illegal and legally punishable use of the entire digital TV
offering. This allows cablecom to continue to offer its customers competitive products in the future.
- Why is cablecom changing its encoding standard?
Periodical
changing of encryption standards and, at the same time, the replacement of smartcards is necessary to
ensure reliable protection of the digital TV offering against piracy.
Finally,
introduction
of the new encryption protects all customers who receive their services from cablecom legally. On the
other hand, illegal access to products through hacking punishable by law should be stopped.
- Does
the change to the encoding standard affect the reception of digital TV channels via cablecom?
As
a cablecom digital tv customer you will not notice the change-over. The cablecom devices are prepared
for the new encryption. The change-over will take place automatically. You don’t have to do a thing.
- Since
the switch, I can no
longer receive my subscribed channels
All receiving devices (mediabox) supplied
by or bought from cablecom are technically prepared for this change-over. Should you have problems receiving
digital channels with a cablecom mediabox, please contact our service customer care.
- I
still do not have a cablecom mediabox. How can I receive cablecom digital tv?
From
as little as CHF 6 monthly you can rent a cablecom mediabox and thus receive the digital basic service
which includes over 115 TV and around 100 radio channels. Other programme packages from the films &
