Voice MailboxWith
the mobile voice mailbox (appears as voice mailbox in the address book of your mobile phone) we provide
you with your own personal answering machine. Whenever you do not answer a call, you are already on
the phone, or your mobile phone is switched off, your calls will be forwarded to your voice mailbox
automatically.
When you call the voicebox for the first time, you will
be taken through a menu. This menu will help you to record your personal greeting and to choose your
four-digit mailbox password. You will need the latter so that you can access your voicebox from abroad
or from another telephone and also to ensure that unauthorized persons do not have access to your voicebox.
By
recording a personal greeting you assure callers that they have dialed the right number. You can change
both your personal greeting and your voice mailbox password anytime in the menu «voice mailbox options»
using the option key in your mailbox.
Example
«Hello.
You have reached the answering machine of Diana Ford. Please leave a message so I can call you back.»
How
do you know someone has left a message on your voice mailbox?
As soon as someone
has left a voice message, you will receive SMS notification and the symbol

will
appear on the display
of your mobile phone. To remove the SMS symbol from your display you will need to delete the SMS notification
once you have read it. For more information on how to do that, please consult the manufacturer’s instruction
book that came with your mobile phone.
How
do I access my voice messages?
There are
two ways of accessing the personal messages in your mailbox:
1.
If you are in Switzerland and call your cablecom mobile voice mailbox from your
own mobile phone
Hold down the
1 key for a short time; if the system asks you for the number of your voice mailbox, please enter
+41 76 333 33 33. Please follow the instructions in the manual of your mobile phone or dial the number
+41 76 333 33 33 which is also stored in the address book of your cablecom mobile SIM card under voice
mailbox.
2. If you are calling from a landline or from
abroad
Dial 086 + your ten-digit mobile phone
number or, if you are abroad, +41 86 + your ten-digit mobile phone number, e.g. +41 86 076 111 11 11.
You
will then be connected to your personal voice mailbox. To get to the main menu directly, press the key
during your personal greeting.
Now enter your four-digit mailbox password
and then press the key again. Your voice box will tell you how many messages you have received and then
play your messages one by one automatically.
Please
note: Your cablecom mobile voice mailbox can store up to 15 messages for a maximum of eight days.
We recommend that you delete retrieved messages immediately to free up space for new ones.

GPRS:
General Packet Radio Service
With mobile transfer rates of up
to 50 Kbit/s, GPRS
is ideal for mobile access to WAP services, and it permits sending and receiving e-mail messages. With
GPRS you are always on line, i.e. it is not necessary to establish a new connection each time. Charges
for connections are no longer based on the duration of the connection but rather on the transferred
data volume. This means that you can stay on line as long as you like without incurring extra costs
as a result.
EDGE:
Enhanced Data Rates for GSM EvolutionThis is the data turbo based on GSM standard.
The EDGE service is based on packet-switching data transmission. EDGE currently allows mobile transmission
rates of up to 200 Kbit/s.
UMTS:
Universal Mobile Telecommunications SystemUMTS currently allows mobile transmission
rates of up to 384 Kbit/s. As a high-speed network, UMTS is a vital precondition for video telephony
and direct streaming (playing without downloading data) of video clips. UMTS is equally suitable for
accessing the Internet with a laptop while you’re on the move. In addition, UMTS allows you to use several
applications at the same time. This means you can simultaneously download files and surf the Internet
without being engaged, i.e. without missing incoming telephone calls.
