reasons of copyright, some programmes (usually foreign films) as well as sports broadcasts of the
BHT
1,
HRT TV 1 and
Rai Sport Più channels are encrypted and
cannot be received in Switzerland. For various reasons, the channels mentioned above do not have an
international right of distribution; as a result, they can be received in full only in their home country.
6 October 2009: Disney XD replaces JetixDisney
XD goes on air on
9 October 09, replacing the current children's channel Jetix.
The channel, from the Disney stables, brings a new generation of TV to children aged between 6 and 14,
with round-the-clock broadcasting of live-action programs and cartoons, original Disney films, comedies,
adventure series and sport.
Disney XD is included in the "kids&fun"
theme package and the "cablecom collection"
28 August 2009: Two new TV channels to be added to basic digital service on 9th
September 09
Rai 4 is the fourth channel broadcast by the publicly-regulated
television channel RAI. The channel is aimed at a younger adult audience and broadcasts series, feature
films and reality shows.
The Italian film channel
IRIS offers the
entire spectrum of feature films. From the latest blockbusters to black and white classics, there’s
something for everyone.
26 May 2009: nutrition, fitness and medicine with Salute!As
of 9 June, the Italian health channel Salute! will be available as part of the basic digital service.
Topics covered range from A for anti-ageing to Z for zinc deficiency.
19 May 2009: even more fun for children with RAI GulpThe children’s
channel RAI Gulp will be added to the basic digital service on 9 June ensuring a great deal of joy and
fun, especially for kids and young adults.
17 April 2009: EPG data for channels in the basic serviceThe
EPG data for the following channels will be available from 28 April 2009: BBC Three/CBBC, BBC Four/Cbeebies,
ITV 3 & 4, E4, More 4.
1 April 2009: MTV Germany becomes MTV SwitzerlandInstead of
the previously aired German channel with Swiss commercials, as of today MTV will be broadcasting a music
channel specially tailored for its Swiss audience.
1 April 2009: NICK starts in VIVA broadcasting slot As
of now the children’s channel, NICK will be aired in the VIVA broadcasting slot. As part of the change
NICK has extended its range of programmes and will now be on air every day between 5 a.m. and 8.15 p.m..
10 March 2009: Bloomberg TV now only available in EnglishAt
the beginning of February, the media group Bloomberg made the decision to replace the various language
versions of its channel in Europe (including German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese) with a
single English language channel.
Cablecom has broadcast the German version of Bloomberg
TV in the past and will continue to offer the English version as part of its basic digital service.
However, it will be broadcast via a new slot from the 17. March (in the same environment as the other
English TV channels).
4 March 2009: The range of English channels will be expanded further on the 17.
March 09 in the modernised networksFIVE is a family channel
that broadcasts films, serials, shows and lifestyle programs.

More 4 will augment the basic service with the
best comedies, movies, serials and sport.
BBC Three,

CBBC et
CBeebies will complement the current range
of public digital channels from Great Britain with an excellent selection of cultural programmes, documentations

1 March 2009: Star TV will be included in the basic service from the 17. March
09Calling all lifestyle and cinema fans, the German-Swiss TV channel
Star
TV is finally available in Ticino.
28 February 2009: 2 new TV channels in the basic service RAI
Storia will complement the basic service with a comprehensive range of documentaries.
TeleZüri,
the local channel from Zurich providing the latest local news and events from the Greater Zurich Area,
is now also available in Ticino.
3 February 2009: New French radio channel included in the basic digital serviceThe
radio channels RTL France, RTL 2 France and Fun Radio will be replaced by the French niche channels
Voltage (hits), Radio Nova (black music) and OUI FM (rock). Both radio channels France Bleu and Le Mouv'
are available again.
1 February 2009: NASN will has been renamed ESPN AMERICAThe
new name and associated logo has now been confirmed, nearly two years after the official take-over of
NASN. The debut of
ESPN AMERICA will be celebrated today at the same time as the
Super Bowl Sunday broadcast. The programme will remain unchanged and will continue to concentrate on
North American sports events.
15 January 2009: Additional channels are changing to the 16:9 picture formatWith
immediate effect, all programmes of the
BBC World News channel as well as the chargeable
motorsport channel,
Motors TV, will be transmitted in the 16:9 picture format.
29 Decembre 2008: Eurosport HD and National Geographic HDWith
effect from January 2009 it will be possible to subscribe to both of these channels in the
“cablecom
HD” option for CHF 7.50/mth. and in combination with the 16 TV channels in the “cablecom collection”
as
“cablecom collection & HD” for CHF 20/mth.
5 December 2008: RTL Group changes programme to 16:9 picture formatFrom
now on current news formats, trailers and commercial breaks on the channels RTL, RTL II, n-tv and Super
RTL can be viewed in the new 16:9 picture format.
1 December 2008: Christmas channel from Music ChoiceFrom 1
December 2008 all subscribers to “music&clips” or “cablecom collection” can enjoy the Christmas
channel from Music Choice. This special programme will be broadcast on the “MC Special” channel position
until 9 January 2009.

November 2008: “Leonardo World” stops international transmissionFrom today the
documentary channel “Leonardo World” (part of “docu&life” or “cablecom collection”) will no longer
be available in Switzerland. A replacement channel will be launched in Spring 2009 on the same channel
position.
28 October 2008: SF info in the basic digital serviceThe German
Swiss programme
SF info, which keeps you informed about the most important events
in Switzerland, broadcasts sports events and shows repeats of the two main channels’ own productions,
is now available in addition to SF 1 and SF zwei.
27 October 2008: Virgin Radio Italy replaces Rock FMGood news
for all rock music fans: on 28 October the Italian radio programme
Virgin Radio Italy
will be replacing the Rock FM channel in cablecom’s basic digital service. Rock on!
24 October 2008: BOING replaces IRISFrom 28 October the entertainment
channel IRIS, which is already no longer available due to technical problems, will be replaced in the
basic service by the children’s and families’ channel
BOING. Showing exciting
documentaries, children’s series and films, this channel provides the best in entertainment for the
entire family.
1 Ocotber 2008: “Sailing Channel” becomes “Yacht & Sail”!From
today all sailing fans will find the sports channel “Sailing Channel” under its new name “Yacht &
Sail” (Y&S). This renaming goes hand in hand with the introduction of the new channel logo. The
focus of the channel’s content will remain unchanged.
9 September 2008: Reorganisation of the channel order in the TV areaCablecom
has
activated a number of additional digital channels over the past few days. This may lead to a change in the channel order in the digital and analog area for some customers groups.

9 September 2008: High resolution sport, Eurosport HDThe HD
version of Eurosport is now also available from cablecom. The channel will initially be available until
the end of 2008 as part of the «cablecom collection» and «cablecom sports&more». The channel will
be broadcasted in English..
8 September 2008: Now it’s going to get even hotter, with Dorcel ... A third channel is being added to the pay-TV option «cablecom erotic»: from October,
«Dorcel TV» in France will be broadcasting the best productions from Marc Dorcel around
the clock, in German, French and English.
2 September 2008: New foreign language TV channels to be launched on 9 September

RTR Planeta: The popular Russian channel RTR Planeta will now be included in the basic package in German-speaking Switzerland and Tessine. |

EuroNews in Arabic: In addition to German, French, Italian, English, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian, an 8th soundtrack will be available in Arabic on the news channel EuroNews. |

TGRT EU: The Turkish channel TGRT that produces a lot of its programmes outside Turkey (in Switzerland for example) will be included in the cablecom turkiye option which incurs a charge. |
28 August 2008: New foreign language option with TV Globo InternationalFrom
9 September for 35 CHF/month throughout Switzerland, you can subscribe to cablecom
portugues premium, the international version of the most popular Brazilian channel TV Globo Internacional.
As well as the Portuguese channel RTP Int. in the basic package, you can continue to use the cablecom
portugues option with the TV channels SIC Int. and Record TV for 10 CHF/month.
27 August 2008: Extending
the range of HD channelsWe’re continuing to extend the range of HD programmes: On
9 September Arte HD will be added to the basic cablecom digital tv package.
